48 Hours for Minerals

posted by Abyss

RAGEQUIT.tv is announcing the “48 Hours for Minerals” cast. For 48 hours, starting on Friday, August 20th @ 4PM EDT RAGEQUIT.tv will begin streaming with Abyss and Sheekthief. Throughout the 48 hours, various casters will join and leave - but the stream will remain up (provided brief outages in case of camera switching).

Throughout this 48 hours, we will be casting various Starcraft 2 games, including show matches, tournament matches, interviews, and pretty much anything that the viewers want to see, or the players want to play. We will be attempting to cast any events that occur in an overlapping time, provided the event organizers let us. We will start out on the US server, but may switch over to the EU server during time zones that prefer it.

Now, some would ask why are we doing this? Charity of course! 48 Hours for Minerals is a fundraiser for Child’s Play, a non-profit organization which has donated over 5 million dollars in toys, books, and games for kids in hospitals across the States and Europe. Throughout the entire event, we will be asking for donations towards Child’s Play. A link to donate will be provided on our website, as well as a tracker of all the money donated so far.

RAGEQUIT.tv Casters

These are the confirmed casters that will join us throughout the event.

  • Abyss
  • Sheekthief
  • Ipp
  • prodiG
  • Wolf
  • Atticus
  • TheGunrun

Other casters have been invited and may join impromptu to hang out during the event. If you’re a caster, feel free to contact us (information below) if you’re interested in helping out.

Contact us

If you’re interested in playing showmatches, or have something to cast, join our IRC (QuakeNet #ragequit.tv or webchat here) and tell us there. We will try to accept people/ideas that the viewers would enjoy to make it the most fun for them. If it is during the event, the above IRC is prefered since ustream’s chat will probably be flooded.

The final countdown

posted by Tom

Cheesy title, I know! Anyway, since there is some confusion about the schedule for our tournament, we have a neat little countdown in the sidebar to your right. It is important to note it counts down the time till the sign ins begin. The actual games and the cast are scheduled to begin 30 minutes later.

Keep in mind however, that things can change and delays may happen, so to keep up to date you could join us on IRC at #RAGEQUIT.TV @ QuakeNet or use our webchat.

Almost done for the day, countdown in the sidebar has been updated—tomorrow we continue!

Ragequit.tv Amateur Open

posted by Abyss

So amongst all of our website work that Tomasz has been doing, we have also just announced our first Amateur Open tournament to be held this Friday and Saturday! it will be 64-man, though we are seriously considering bringing it up to 128-man now that we’ve overfilled in just 1 day.

So if you’re interested, please, go sign up! If not, just come watch! All of the details can be found in our thread on TeamLiquid.net

New website

posted by Abyss

Ragequit.tv is a small streaming organization with a simple goal: Amateur Casting for Amateur Players. Originally started as /v/craft by GrizzlyAdam, three new members joined: Abyss, Atticus, and Sheekthief. Currently, as GrizzlyAdam and Atticus are busy with IRL obligations, Abyss and Sheekthief have been the primary casters.

We have a very open format, most of the time just getting on and letting users from the stream jump in and play a match or two while we stream and cast their games. There are no skill requirements for playing on our stream, however players that put on a good show may be higher priority.

We also have an IRC channel in QuakeNet #ragequit.tv - while we cast you can find most of us in UStream’s built-in chat.

During the downtime between Beta and Release, we plan to stream LoL and TF2!

This is just the beginning of Ragequit.tv’s new website. Thanks to Tom it’s pushing along really well. Don’t expect many site features to work yet, it’s all still in the works.
